Stone Brewing Co. is famous for making big character beers and for pushing the limits of modern-day brewing practices. The specialty brewer is at it again with their most recent creation: Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale.
For seven years Arrogant Bastard Ale has been surprising palates and turning the brewing world upside down. It has accurately been described as an "angry" beer with a massive flavor profile. No doubt similar words will be used on this latest creation that will hit the shelves on November 1st.
"Too many people strive towards complacency as a goal. They stop their urge and desire for discovery somewhere between youth and adulthood," said Stone Brewing CEO Greg Koch. "Our desires for discovery haven't slowed, thus we bring you Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale."
As with its predecessor, the depth, complexity and richness of this beer is intense. With the addition of oak chips, subtle vanilla flavors become apparent and the normally "angry" beer takes on a more "sophisticated" feel. Think of it as Arrogant Bastard Ale all dressed up for a night on the town.
"This beer is clearly a reward for those seeking new sources of passion, and another point of dissention for those who are not" states Koch. Subtle flavors, maybe. Subtle attitude, definitely not. Especially when you consider this beer will only be released in a limited edition 3Litre bottle!
